Poster Template

This is the template for out poster. We are waiting to get new image to match the storyline.
The title on this template is the one which we will be using for our actual poster. We will be having a tag line under the title to draw the viewers in, which has to be short and catchy.
The top image will be one of the couple when they are younger, when they boy is chasing the girl. the second image, under the title, will be a photo of when our couple are older and the tables have turned, with the girl chasing the boy. Under this umage we will have the billingblock and then the date of release.

New Title

This is what our new title font will look like,
It is in the same font as our previous title, and will not effect our previous work much. We are planning to change the colour of the font, to a generic colour used in romantic comedy films, like red, pink, or blue.

Change Of Plans

Over the past few days, our group has decided to change our ideas for our teaser trailer.
We started filming Thursday last week, and began editing the following day. We were finding the current direction it was taking difficult to manage and keep simple.
We have changed the story line to:
A teenage boy and girl, the boy is clumsy and has feelings for the popular girl which are not returned. In the present, he is a journalist, and she is a well known actress. They are reunited, and she falls for him, but this time, her feelings are the ones which are not returned.
We have designed a rough storyboard, which we will be drawing up in neat soon & then uploading to our blogs.
We are going to use the same photo for our magazine, but we are planning to take more photos of Thursday to fit the storyline better.
We will start filming asap, the locations needed for our film are now in school, meaning it will be easier.
The title of our film is being changed to 'Keeping Faith', we will still be using the same fonts as before, we will just be changing the 'Losing' to 'Keeping'.

Font Research Results Continued

After researching what fonts we thought would be most suitable for use as our film title, we took the selection around our class and asked them to chose which fonts they preffered. We asked a total of 20 people, and this is the graph which shows our results.

From this graph we can see that the first font for 'Losing' and the fourth font for 'Faith' are the most popular between the people that we asked during our survey. As a result, we will be using these fonts for our film title, which will be featured on our magazine cover and our film poster.

When asking people to chose a font for our title we had to make sure that they were bearing in mind that they were going to be used together, and thus had to work in this way. I think that these two fonts work well because they are a similar style. The scruffyness of the font looks like handwriting or doodles, and this mirrors the age of the main characters. The heart used to dot the i in 'faith' also hints at the romantic comedy genre of the film.



Font Research Continued

After collecting the results of our survey on our magazine title, we then decided to do the same process with our film title. We had already decided that both words, 'losing' and 'faith' would have different fonts - similar to the style used in 'He's Just Not That Into You'. The word 'losing' we decided would be in a scruffy, untidy font, this would relate to the clumsy persona of our male main character. We felt that the word 'faith' should be in italics, this softer use of font would emphasise the genre of romantic comedy.

 

Next lesson we will carry out the survey and act on the results, applying them to our magazine cover and poster.

Font Research Results



This is the graph which shows the results of our class research for our magazine title font. We asked a number of 20 people to select which font they felt was most suitable for our magazine, and as we can see from the results, the third font was the favourite with a total of 5 votes. This is the one that we will be using for our magazine.

I personally feel that this font is one of the best for our magazine title as it is bold and eyecatching, and the style of lights inside the letters tie in with the title itself of 'SPOTLIGHT', and I think that this works well.

Font Research

After looking a existing magazines, we found that the majority of the titles were were in large, bold fonts, and often in capital letters.

These are a selection of fonts that I found that we would be able to use for our magazine cover.
We plan to produce a questionairre so that we can found out other peoples opinions and which would be the best for our magazine.
